I'm going to play the part of a hypocrite, which is something that all humans are form time to time, but from my last blog "Is there a God?" you could get this Idea that I am very passive when it comes to my being Atheist and not very vocal and that is true to some extent. If you ask I won't lie, I would never lie about my beliefs unless you actually had a gun to my head - I'm not a cowered, but I love myself too much to wear a target on my forehead so to speak.

I'm not the evangelistic atheist type nor am I a strong vocal advocate for non-belief. I live my life and I rarely care how you live yours. but as much as I don't like dogmatic evangelistic types when it comes to religions, I can't help but like people like Richard Dawkins and the newly discovered Pat Condell of Youtube.

What does every one here think of him?

And does this make me a hypocrite?

Um.. unless you were claiming to be a militant atheist and then behaving as you just described, I don't see any hypocrisy.
As far as I can tell, hypocrisy is saying one thing and doing another.
You are pretty blatantly saying what you do, and then living up to it.
Seems fair enough to me.

I'm a fan of Condell's as well. Sure he's over the top some times, but he is honest. I like that. Plus I agree with a majority of the time, which is a nice bonus. :)

Yeah he's pretty great. I just wish people didn't have to go to such extremes to me heard - I have this split in personal philosophy. I'm torn because on the one hand I think that all dogma bad, religious and non, no matter who is in the right, and on the other hand I can tolerate listening to people like this because I'm a bit bias. Which is the reason I wonder if I'm hypocrite? :D

As long as Pat Condell sticks to criticizing Islam, Christianity and Britain's passivity in the face of religious extremism he's awesome. But during the recent British General Election he came out hard for the United Kingdon Independance Party (UKIP) a hard-right xenophobic bunch that actually indulges in patronizing politicallu active white-Christian chavinists. He was totally wrong when he attached You-Tube atheists claiming they were soft on Islamics Fascists. Condell is not above creating his own scarecrows and then knocking them down when it suits his purpose. One thing I find he is good for is demonstrating that the atheist "movement" if there is such a thing, is not a monolithic cult - stray beyond the confines of discusiing religion and most atheists will just as gladly rip each other apart as they rip into their religious opponents.

I don't like dogma, dogma leads to war.
