I know there's no God, but Satan, I'm not too sure about.

I posit, that while religions foment for the existence of God, the mere existence of religions is pretty conclusive evidence for the existence not of God, but of Satan. Traditionally, it is Satan's overriding desire to spread pain, evil, suffering, disharmony, etc. among mankind. What better way to achieve his desires than to create religion. Religions assures that various groups of humans will be constantly struggling to eliminate each other. It does not allow for compromise, how can one do other than what their God demands? It cannot tolerate anyone engaging in "sin", though one sect's sin is another sect's sacrament. Religion, in other words assures that humans will engage in endless conflict, inflicting anguish and misery on any and all for as long as religions exist. And, since no two people ever agree about all of the interpretations of their sacred texts, when there is but one religion left, they will fight to the death to eliminate the heretics among them.

Aye, all the gods/goddesses ever imagined up out of man's head have all been pretty much a bunch of assholes. All filled with hate & contempt toward outsiders of their belief. I've pondered this as well in my studies through life.

You can use logic and reason against religious ideas, but they are totally ineffectual!

If there were a Satan but not a god.. wouldn't that make Satan a god by default? I mean, he might be an asshole god.. but which one isn't?
BTW.. show me in the Bible where Satan does much of anything to cause pain and suffering and so on.
I dare you.

No contest, misty. I sometimes think irony and sarcasm are lost art forms.
