A few months back I went round and round about gay marriage with folks on this site.  However I'd like to ask just one more question especially among advocates of homosexual behavior.. What do you think of this, is it "normal", weird, over the top or what?  Not the separation, but the pregnant thing..
and if it is OK with you, were does this take us as far as relationships are concerned and human interactions ie: genetically male and genetically female?

I think people will conclude since he was born a women, he was not doing anything too weird.

i don't mean to be argumentative (tee hee) but what does "too," in too weird, mean? These taking on "gender roles" then making statements like gender roles are social constructions also confuses me.. Men who are genetically born male, don't have babies, period!

@ Shabaka - Okay, you are right. What I said really does not make sense. I don't know what I was thinking. I think I was thinking that it is possible for a man to have a baby if you put a woman's reproductive system inside of him, but I suppose that is not possible at this time.

"He" was born female, so of course "he" would be able to get pregnant, up until "he" had sex reassignment surgery (which is much more difficult for female-to-male than male-to-female). I see nothing weird or over-the-top here. I see a person who was born genetically female, who became legally male, get pregnant using the equipment "he" was born with.

"advocates of homosexual behavior"?  Since when does a romantic or sexual attraction constitute advocacy of anything?  If you are primarily attracted to members of the opposite sex, does that make you an advocate of heterosexual behavior?  I think that you are confusing a person's innate attraction to members of the same sex with the political movements that exist to defend their lives from bigotry and discrimination.

As for this article, why do you care?  Does the existence of this family affect you somehow?  You are the one who is attributing some type of cosmic significance to this person's life as though it has the power to somehow affect "human interactions".  This family is simply trying to live their lives.

Gay and transgender people spend their existence listening to critiques of their lives and relationships.  Is it weird?  Is it normal?  Is it okay?  How will it affect society?  Will their existence destabilize The Force and allow the Sith Lords to destroy the Jedi Knights?  What should be done about it?

Personally, I find it weird and disturbing that so many people have nothing better to do with their own lives than worry about stuff like this.

ok Abu..if you say so...nothing not "normal" about all that...

Yeah advocates..you know the people who get political, ie: legalize gay marriage, when they ain't screwing..

Why do I care?  Well, I sure you won't relate to this because of where you sit..but it's both a historical removal of ones culture and the adoptation of another's without the full knowledge and consent of why the adoptation took place..

Really?  This person's very existence is somehow destroying your culture?  They sure have an incredible amount of power.  I bet if they concentrated really hard, they could probably cause earthquakes.

Don't be childish...but then again, maybe that's your limit.

Yep. I hit my limit a long time ago when dealing with bigots who use religion, culture, or tradition to justify discrimination.  You don't deserve an adult response.
