I'd like to call all atheists to action. CHALLENGING THE SOUL and SPIRITUALITY.

Why do people challenge belief in GOD? When they can challenge belief in the SOUL and SPIRITUALITY?

I have a hard time understanding why people argue for atheism in this time yet won't mention their disbelief in the soul unless it comes up in conversation. Most people I know KNOW there is no god... to me today's problem is the belief in the SOUL. I even know many agnostics and even atheists ACTUALLY claim to believe in souls!

My point is that despite there being no evidence in support of the soul far too many people still believe in them.. Or simply are afraid to mention that they don't.

If we were to challenge the idea of the SOUL. All the major religions have no foot to stand on... since they are ALL BASED on the idea.

If you think about it... every major religion is just a way of explaining what happens to your soul after you die. So if you can convince people that there is no soul. You convince people that there is no god. Semantics. Arguing against each meaning of the word God and each individual appearance of the word God seems like a losing battle when you could simply cut it off at the source of these irrational ideas. The soul.

I've noticed over the years that people have a hard time admitting or "coming out" in their disbelief in the soul. Almost like they they would be admitting that they are less of a person somehow for not believing they have a soul.  I find myself being the only one and would love it if more people would join me in this.

15 years I found myself to be a bit of an outcast for being atheist. Atheists couldn't openly speak of their atheism like they can today. I believe today belief in the soul is like that... maybe 15 years from now challenging the idea of spirituality will be "ok". Til then, i'll still be changing it.

You would have to start by disproving movement and communication.

Unfortunately, with deism, the SOUL cannot be argued against since you would never be able to provide evidence for or against it. The reason we can argue against Theism is because it's factual evidence that we can quote and provide sources against (factually), but things like the SOUL and "God" could always be played in the "The God of the Gap" argument, in which God is perpetual scientific ignorance. We know the soul doesn't exist, but we would never be able to prove it, thus it is innately a losing battle.

Kinda similar to god hey? There is no way to prove God doesn't exist...

The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was created for the very reason that it is seemingly impossible to disprove something that can't be seen.

To be able to combat the soul, we have to wait for science to catch up, sadly D:

Are you saying you can prove that god doesn't exist.. but you cannot prove that the soul doesn't exist?

Not yet...? And if you CANNOT prove that god doesn't exist... but maybe sometime we will be able to prove that the soul DOES NOT EXIST... the chances seem quite a bit better to me!

Definitely not, Theism and Deism are completely different. Deism is saying a god exists, Theism is saying they know which one specifically. We cannot combat Deism because of our current scientific ignorance, but Theism we easily can. We can disprove a certain god, easily, but we cannot disprove the concept of god, just like we cannot currently disprove the concept of a soul, as shown with the "God in the Gap" argument, among other ignorant arguments.

At least we have that hope of science... and guess what...in the future, if, through science or otherwise, we COULD prove the soul doesn't exist....... around 85 percent of the worlds religious people will no longer have any reason to believe... and that's my point

So.. you can easily prove the Christian god doesn't exist?
