holiday pay or HOLIDAY pay?

Ok, the Christians who are my Facebook friends have reached a new, previously undiscovered level of stupidity. Or is it ignorance... I can't decide.

I have just been asked if I, because I do not believe in God/Jesus, give back the extra money that I recieve as holiday pay for the Christmas holiday. (!!!!) And, if not, was I not being hypocritical??

Wow, Really?

Would you give back the money?

I guess that I do not feel that I am accepting the money on the pretense that I believe in Jesus. I mean, the head of the Library (where I work) and the Head of the youth department are both Jewish, and I don't think they're turning down their holiday pay... but, that is beside the point. I get paid for 4 hours on Christmas day because we are closed and I could not work if I wanted to. It is a part of my benefit package. It has nothing to do with my beleif in Christ! Christ! LOL.

Anyway.... just venting really. I am not questioning whether it is right to accept the money. I mean, if someone starts handing me a check, telling me "I am giving you this money because you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ!" and I took the money, now THAT would be hypocritical. But accepting pay for a holiday that we are closed? Not so much.

I guess some people just need an excuse to pick at me because they just found out that I am Atheist.

A Christmas bonus is basically your employers way to give back a little bit of the money they are making off of you during the holiday season in effort to improve employee satisfaction which in turn makes them more money off of you.
