Hi There, Atheists!

I felt like giving a brief introduction so as not to be rude, and to give a simple idea about the person I represent in real life.

So how's it going? I'm this guy who lives in Egypt, you know, the country with the pyramids. Anyway, I've been here a while and I must say this site is the best thing google has led me to in a long time.

I study Medicine in college, with a special interest in Neurology. I'm also really interested in Philosophy, Psychology, Biology, also bla bla bla and so on. Oh, and I'm a movie geek by the way.

I'm 'not honest' about my stance on religion with people to avoid, let's just say, dire consequences. While away from my fundamentalist family, I make my views clear about as many topics as I can, as long as I don't come near the tabooed word: "Atheist". My friends know me as a liberal moderate Muslim instead.

Been seriously indoctrinated, and left religion about a year ago after a long period of confusion.

That's it for now, and I want to thank the regular TAers for making this site worth coming back to.

Great, now I won't feel bad about participating, you'll see me around.

It is totally understandable that you must be cautious there. I admire your resolution even more so than many of us since you live in a place where leaving a religious faith can mean extreme consequences.
