A fan died falling out of the stands at a Ranger game. Josh Hamilton, who is a Christian and credits Jesus Christ for helping him get through his drug and alcohol probelms, feels horrible about it. First of all shouldn't he say well the fan is now in a "better place" or curse God for allowing this to happen. He thanks God, why not curse God? If there was a God I could not worship such a cruel being to leave a family without a husband, father, son, brother, etc. I would love to see Hamilton curse God but wee all know this will not happen

Comment by Joe Schmegheggi on July 8, 2011 at 8:46pm I don't get it. Do you or Josh believe that "God" plucked the fan out of the stands like a tornado and threw him over the side? Why does one have to curse "God?" And how does Josh know the fan is in a better place? Maybe he went to the other place (LOL). Since you seem to want to believe in something, why not pick a religion whose deity doesn't kill its worshipers?

Comment by Stephanie on July 9, 2011 at 12:58am Religious people believe that God "has a plan" and there is a reason these people die. But what I believe is that it was merrily a tragic accident. I mean, people who get into drugs and alcohol do so not because they are "misguided" or pulled in by "the devil", they are troubled, they've been brought up in poor circumstances and turn to drugs and alcohol to fill a void. I believe that there is no true evil. People don't do bad things without reason. People don't decide to be a bad person just "because." The types of people most suseptible to addictions are those with cold, unloving, uncaring, verbally or physically abusive parents, or children who've been molested, or have psychological issues that may or may not be fixed with therapy. I don't think there needs to be a "blame" on anything, especially a non-existent being. We are always looking for people to blame, we need to realize that isn't important, nor is it worth spending time caring about. What should matter is the guy himself, the fact that he lived, and that he had a chance to influence people in his life, and that he will be remembered. That's what should be considered, not where he's going to go when he dies.
