A customer service rep from AT&T just said this to me and I called back to file a complaint. Completely futile I'm sure. Just wondering how you all deal with this "blessed day" stuff.

Personally I would have to retort "Bacchus, the God of Wine and Merriment, is taking very good care of me."

I ignore the actual statement and consider that they are trying to wish me well in general. It is very annoying that some people don't understand that they are forcing their beliefs on me (thus violating the American Constitution) but I try to keep in mind that they might actually have such a limited experience that they don't have a clue they are being offensive.

Yes, I agree and when I'm told this on a personal level I always let it go. But this person is a Customer Service Representative for AT&T and is representing the company. It is totally inappropriate. I had to let someone know. This is why employees are given a 'script' to follow.
