A Finnish City Council man who wrote a blog calling the Prophet Muhammed a pedophile is being charged with Blasphemy. His blog asserts that Muhammed married a 6 or 7 year old girl and consummated the marriage at 9 years old. Aisha was one of his favorite brides. (I'm dry heaving over here.)

His statements are not being called lies. And they aren't. He's being charged with inciting a ethnic-group. My suggestion is this... if an ethnic group is so backwards in the modern world that they can't keep themselves from killing people at every opportunity or offense, then maybe they shouldn't be free to kill people as a group? I am offended every time I hear this nation is a Christian Nation. Somehow I haven't killed everyone in my sight. I haven't even physically intimidated anyone over it. But to stand, as a government, and attack the little guy for stating what is true, and free speech over fears of what the other group will do is cowardly. Finland is a part of the UN and has accepted the declaration of human rights. This "blue law" of not blaspheming religion is antiquated and someone should recognize it and instruct the prosecutor to drop it. Hopefully a judge will have the common sense to throw it out in favor of free speech.
