I was looking through the bibles for a cheap like 5 buck thing so I could study the old testament. My best friend, who is recently devout, decided to buy me a pink shiny new bible. I feel awful for accepting this gift, for most of what it's going to is just to read to just cement how I felt about this book as an agnostic in the church.

Don't fret. I've spent enough money on bibles for people to make up for it. I own a ton of religious literature.

Don't feel bad. I too was given, The Womans's Study Bible a few months ago by a friend. It is a nice book with a leather bound spine and a lovely maroon cover.

I told my friend not to give it to me because of what I was going to use it for. They persisted, and gave it to me. When I read the title, I asked them, "Is this book was going to explain why I shouldn't be offened by the sexism in the Bible?" I didn't get an answer to that.

Anyhow, this lovely book will replace the bible I have that is falling apart. It's also a little easier to read. Lucky me!

Aww, thanks, guys. I don't feel as bad anymore. It's just awkward, cos she's really pouring out the Jesus stuff, cos she's newly devout, as her husband is away in Korea.

It's also their "so-called" duty to do so. Just as Jehovah Witnesses give out lots of pamphlets & books everyday. Let 'em feel that they are doin' the "right" thing. They want to do this. They feel a morbid need to do this.
