Ex-Athiest writing a book on how to save you godless heathens

hi there friends. i am an ex athiest and im a putting togethter a book/blog for christians about understanding and then saving athiests. I PROMISE, I AM NOT TRYING TO SAVE YOU! but i would greatly appreciate your input.

like i said i used to be an athiest. actually i was more of an anti-christian. i was very thorough wile compiling my arsenal of anti-christian material, and was very articulate when fighting christians. i had a long list of great arguments against christianity, but i could use more.

lets face it. alot of christians are annoying, i agree, but the big idea here is that most christians have absolutely no concept of life without god. so they dont understand athiesim at all. one of the purposes of my book is to illustrate that athiests are not all terrible satanists. that alot of them are actually really good hearted people.

if you are willing to help me out i would appreciate it. if not, feel free to tell me to go to hell lol... please respond to the following 2 statements/questions

what is your best argument against jesus. not god, but jesus specifically????

what is the most annoying thing about christians? or what do you dislike about christians????

I know many people like you who consider themselves anti-Christian too. They are called Muslims. What is your best argument against Allah? What do you find annoying about Muslims? Maybe they would have better answers for you. Me- I am not anti-Muslim or anti-Christian and while I know many Atheists, I have yet to meet on that is a Satanist so I am probably of no more use to you as research material.

One thing that does bug me about Christians is their inability to correctly spell the word “Atheist”. If you correct that know it will save your publisher some time.

I'm not going to help you because you are being disingenuous and are obviously lying to about who you are. 31-35? Married? With the writing ability of a 3rd grader, I sincerely doubt you have lived that long. I don't know why or what you are hiding, but it's unnecessary. Generally, we are an accepting lot. When you are willing to be forthcoming about who you are and what your intentions are and stop pretending otherwise, then I will consider answering your questions.

First of all, you are writing a book? You badly need an editor.

The thing I dislike about Christians is how many of them don't seem to have any problem juxtaposing a supposedly caring, all-powerful God against the hell hole this planet can be. I try to be understanding  because I used to be a Christian but the way I dealt with this dilemma was denial and pushing the topic out of my head. It seems to me a lot of Christians are not in denial about it, they simply think it is justified for some reason. That is hard to understand.

i would like to thank everyone so far for the wonderful hospitality so far lol. great group of people here with convincing positions.  many of you are extremely defensive tho.  i will not respond to everyone here because like i said I AM NOT TRYING TO CONVERT ANY OF YOU. i just want to clearify a few things.

i sincerely was, in fact an ATHEIST (sorry i didnt hit the spell check button before) and like many of you, i spent my whole life surrounding myself with like minded people who supported my position.  there are a few very close people in my life that, yes, i have an interest in saving. the rest of the world? to each his own i say.

i am, in fact, writting a book. whether or not i spell correctly or use capital letters has nothing to do with that. i didnt go to school to be a writer but i do happen to be an expert on the position im writting about. which is. devout atheist converted to christian. its not going to be a book for athiests (yes i will continue to mispell words) it is a book for christians. and many of them are curious about my transformation.   i need to and want to interview and get many different perspectives. right now i can only write of my experiences as an atheist.  with that being said,  i appreciate you all letting me in and sampling a piece of your thought process.

i will say 2 things tho. number1 there is a glaring contrast to how i have been recieved since my conversion to christianity. most of you have commented about self righteous arrogant christians and their judging ways. with out a doubt, i have felt more judgement from atheists in my 2 years of being a christian than i ever have from christians out of my 30 years of atheism.  the only difference with me is now i am alot less combative. i no longer feel the need to prove or justify or defend my beliefs.

number 2. judging by some of your responses i can tell that many of you know absolutely nothing about christianity or the bible or the history of it. i was the same way though. i would study scripture that seemed to contradict other scripture. i would use the christian words and terminology and quote their book in order bait them into theological pitfalls. i would catch them in a part of the bible they werent too familar with and then i would say "see you are preaching the bible and you dont know it" case closed and i was good at it. i realized then that i was only studying words and wasnt too concearned what it all meant in context. i would ignore scripture that i actually agreed with. when it all came down to it. as i started learning more and witnessing a few miricles of my own. i started to realize that the only reason i hated christianity was because i didnt fully understand it. and the only reason i hated christians was because i had felt judgement from people who claimed to be christian.

p.s. notice RobertPiano gave me a gigantic opening to burst in with my testemony and preach my beliefs. my motives are legitamately trying to get more atheists perspectives. thats it. you wont catch me preaching to you. (unless you personally write me an email and ask me to) or disrespecting you or what you believe in. the only thing i do is call people out when they give an inaccurate representation of christianity.  i would expect an athiest to do the same if i made a broad untrue statement like "atheists believe there is a god, they just dont like him"

happy hunting

I don't really have a best argument against Jesus.  I don't need one.  It is incumbent upon believers to provide credible evidence for Jesus' existence.  Obviously, since I don't believe, I have yet to see that evidence.

What I find annoying about some Christians is their lack of respect and tolerance for people who believe differently than they do.  I am tired of being told that it is wrong to be something I am.  It is hurtful and very frustrating.  I really become annoyed when Christians make blanket statements about atheists without knowing who we really are.  For that reason, I appreciate your questions.

I don't hate Christians, but I do sincerely wish more of them would just worship Jesus, be happy about it, and not try to shame, threaten, coerce, or brainwash others into believing the same.  This is an area where I can say I practice what I preach.  I do not try to convince other people to be atheists.

By the way, I do not want to be saved.  It is an absolute effort in futility to try to save me.  I simply won't entertain the possibility. Please understand that many atheists feel the same way and will resent efforts to save" them.  We are not kidding.  We really don't believe in a deity. Really, really.  If somehow you could see into my mind you would know how much I don't believe, and I am not even one of those atheists who claims there is no deity.  I simply do not believe in any.  There are many other atheists who absolutely believe there is no deity ever, anywhere.  They are not saying this out of rebellion or obnoxiousness, although certainly we atheists are sometimes capable of both.

The first thing you need to do is prove you ever were an atheist. I think we'll find it puzzling that someone who truly understood that there is no intellectual/scientific support for the God theory would all of a sudden go intellectually flabby.

Here's your solution and I want you do this exactly how a theist would get help.

1 - Get down on your knees.

2 - Clasp your hands together

3- start talking to the air (but really you're talking to yahweh obviously)

4- ask him (me) for answers to your question
