Even if you call being gay a sin; A biblical response to evangelicals

This is an argument for when Christians insist that the bible calls being gay a sin and can't be convinced otherwise.

I can cite the studies done on the brains of the corpses of gay people that prove that they have very different structuring of a few areas of the hippocampus... But Christians are disgustingly out of line and bring hatred on their own heads.

That so many say it's biblical just shows how little care you guys put into learning that which I counted so precious I took the time to learn at another time in my life. Paul is crystal clear that Christians are NOT to judge anyone outside of the Church IN MATTERS OF SEXUAL IMMORALITY. That is the context. 1 Cor 5:10-13. No Christian has any excuse to not know this passage. It is as plain as day.

Paul is clear. Call sin sin, and do it ONLY within the context of the church. So the bible is clear that it is a sin!  It is also crystal clear that it is none of your business as Paul even says "What business is it of mine to judge those outside of the Church for sexual immorality, God judges outsiders in matters of sexual immorality". Specifically about sexual immorality. That was the freaking topic Paul was addressing it.

There is no excuse for avoiding this passage, because there is no passage that contradicts it anywhere. It is one thing to call gay a sin and another to judge non-Christians, or to impose Christian standards of holiness on the World. Even Paul said you can't do that without leaving The World in that passage. 1 Cor 5:10-13 or even 1-13. Learn it.

That's the problem with all their beliefs, isn't it? Rather than taking everything into account and trying to fit these stories into a modern context, they pick and choose what suits their standpoint and cite whatever line in the book that makes them "right". I know, for example, that there is a bunch of stuff Christians are not supposed to eat, but they do it anyway. It's this huge hypocrisy that bothers me, acting like just being a Christian gives you the right to judge others and think your sh** doesn't smell ... if you will pardon my French lol

I keep going round with my gay sister. She says "I know it's wrong, but...." I constantly tell her "this is the way you're made, this isn't wrong, this is who you are".

Unfortunately, she's been indoctrinated with the same shit I was, (Mormonism). She just can't let it go.

Sorry about not getting back to you both.  This was originally something I wrote to a group of Christians that went to my wife's old church.

Untarded, maybe this link may help her.  http://allpsych.com/journal/homosexuality.html

The problem with Christians is that doctrine of grace.  It gives them a free pass to feel powerless against personal faults.  Unfortunately, this helps them in doing that cherry picking thing you were talking about Maria.
