This is a three part tool to evaluate belief
systems. It is not the only way to do it, nor the best way...but a
better evaluation tool would include these categories and others...
1. Assumptions / Beliefs / Dogmas
2. Relationship to Evidence
Christianity verses Science
Assumptions of Christianity: Triune Dogma of God, Triune Dogma of the Bible,
Punishment / Reward in the Afterlife...
God is an Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent entity.
God's revelation to man is the Bible; the Bible is Inspired, Infallible, and Inerrant.
Inspired or God Breathed means that God is the True Author, not the
individual authors...Infallible, without fallacies, means that the
Bible does not self contradict. Inerrant, without error, means that no
Real External Fact exists that is contrary to the Bible.
Assumptions of Science: Naturalist Causes of Phenomenon...
Ask any question pertaining to how something happens and there will be
a non-supernatural / non-magical answer. Why does it rain? Either
the cycle of evaporation/condensation/precipitation is at work or
"after I wash my car it rains."
The consequence of a perfect Bible is that "evidence rightly understood will always conform to the Bible."
*** Christianity: Dogma Trumps Evidence
Science is fluid, always in flux, not static. Science is based on evidence.
The so called flaw is that it is "only opinion", which is semi-correct: Science is not dogmatic.
*** Science: Evidence Trumps Dogma
Christianity - Apologetics / Evangelism; Word Play / Deception
Science - "Scientific Method;" Peer Review
