finally, after five years in florida, i will be heading back to the bronx next month. i am so glad that i will finally escape this state. there are tons of great people in florida, and a lot of atheist and freethinker groups, but most are a good drive from me, and i never get to go to any of the meetings. i've yet to even attend a meeting for the local freethinker group because of scheduling conflicts.
it's going to be an interesting move. although i'll be moving to a much more liberal city, i will be returning to mama's house for a bit. mama is a very devout catholic - which means she curses and prays for bad things to happen to people she doesn't like, is intolerant of opinions other than hers and the pope's, and knows nothing about the history of the catholic church, or the truth of their positions on pretty much anything besides the fact that god exists. mama thinks i am the devil. it amuses me.
