I don't know if this has already been posted on TA, but I thought it share worthy. I'm also not sure about the profanity policy on TA, so I understand if it isn't approved for posting. ;-)

Good ol' Tim.

As far as I've gathered, swearing is ok as long as you don't get personal. So "you are a mother fucker" isn't ok, but "holy mother fucking hell" is.

@Janis: Whose swearing guidelines are these?...and what are the consequences when breached? :P I'm guessing the person one calls a mother fucker would be pissed...that's the only consequence that I can think of. lol

All speech is free, but some speech is more free than others.

What George said. It's not so much a guideline as the fact that noone will bother having a conversation with you if you're being a prick. Of course, if you get too carried away, you might hear from the admins.

@George: The pricks don't help to improve "our rep", that's for sure. :-)

@James: In my opinion, the lyrics are clearly addressed to those who may be offended by such disrespect for the Popester. Tim is expressing his personal disdain, but communicating directly to those who would likely be offended by how he is expressing it. As an atheist I am highly entertained by the song and animation, (as gratuitous as it is) however, I sincerely don't believe that it was written just for those who agree with him. It was put on YouTube for a reason...to go viral because of the controversy. We are not the only ones tuning in. Many will be apathetic Catholics who might end up saying "Fuck it. He's right. I secretly had this opinion already, but he has SO eloquently put it into words for me." I think that there is good potential for it to impact some people who still have blind loyalty to the Catholic church, enough for some of them to decide to finally make a break from it. They are not necessarily going to become atheists, but they may stop enabling the immoral, hypocritical and criminal behavior of the institution by no longer attending mass and contributing to the coffers.
