I wanted to post a little post about this particular site.
Think Atheist.
What a great idea.
As an atheist, for as long as i can remember I have felt left out in most situations, at family functions, with my friends, people i work with, guys that I have dated.
So many of us are weary about telling people about our lack of faith in a man who "has a beard and sits on a cloud and judges us" i mean doesn't that sound JUST like Santa? so if Santa isn't real how is god...
I was pretty young when I figured it out. the one scenario i posted earlier, was part of it, but it was Christmas, and I was around 5 or 6 and I noticed that the presents from my parents and from Santa all had the same hand writing. With that I came to the conclusion that god was in the same category.
Why one of the first things our parents teach us is to lie, is beyond me. But I digress...
I am very pleased to have found this site, and sadly i can't remember who on twitter I was following who posted a link but thank you.
Its nice to have intelligent conversations with people, most of the people in my life sadly are more concerned with who's wearing what, and what celeb is dating what other celeb.
I am in love with Science and Physics, religion and I rarely get to have an informed conversation where i learn something new.

:) I can completely understand your points, I too have recently gotten fed up with being isolated and wondered if there were other sane, intelligent people out there. Very good think to find that there are such people, and TA has been strong evidence that we are not alone as lovers of science and reason. Hope to see you around :)
