dear madam or sir
allow me a moment
for i have a rather pertinent question that has been bugging me like
crazy
for a long time
buzzing like a patch of black flies
at the edge of my hairline right at the nape of my neck smack dab in the middle of the month of may
why
if your omniscient deity is soooooooo all powerful
does it need
you
to defend it?
can it not fight its own battles?
we have heard all your fairytale fictions to be simply
they
are
bullshit
&
hogwash
we have heard all about the consequences that will be bestowed upon us for not believing
in your own
personal
god
and yet we still do not care
we still do not do what you say
we still do not believe as you do
in this murderous thing you call a god
instead
what we have
are real life atrocities
countless tales of people being
oppressed & tormented,
raped & beaten,
all in the name of your gods
we have wars upon wars,
genocides, famines,
epidemics,
&
natural disasters
all
piling up the body count
while your loving god
watches
moving the pieces around his little chessboard
that he created for his own amusement apparently
even if you will never bend
why do you feel that you cannot sleep until
you have made me
succumb to your idiot ways?
why must you run through cities, villages and towns
like fucking paul revere
screaming at the top of your lungs
that all of us heathens need to repent
before the final days?
why can’t you let us all burn in your own personal hell?
yes, why can’t you do this
(picture it in your head---all the people that you ever disliked, burning for eternity),
and while you are doing it---shut the fuck up?
it must be an explosion of anger that rushes through you
every time that you come across a non-believer
(in whatever fictional story you believe in)
you must want to kill us with your own bare hands
for defiling your
creator
you must want your hands dripping with the blood of my own gouged
jugular
but a sense of beautiful calm flushes over you
as you tell yourself that you don’t have to
because your god will do it for you
and to you that means everything
that is all the justice that needs to be had
in this world
i do have to apologize
as i said this letter was to be brief
but i always find myself going on and on
when confronted with you god-defenders
i guess that is because
you
are
just
so
very
easy
to
offend
and
piss
off
and i must admit
it does bring a smile to my face
and i need to get every one that i can now, don’t i, that is
before i “get what’s coming to me”

Rich, would you at least try? =)
yes! again, rich, thanks for continuing to punch! stay in the ring man! firstly, i would say that as far as i am concerned, no theist is "in their right mind." regarding christians specifically, we are talking about people who believe that another human being was born of a virgin, walked on water, brought people back from the dead, water to wine, bread and fishes, crucifixion &resurrection---and this fictional character is what these idiots have been killing other people over---for centuries! to think that there was such a thing as the inquisition...that people were put to death because they may have not believed such bullshit? no, most definitely, a theist is NOT in their right mind. not at all. george w. never should have been having prayer meetings, and mitt fucking romney should never ever set foot anywhere near the oval office---even if it is merely a figurehead puppet position whose master is corporate america. as far as these catholic clergy members, and for that matter, any clergy in the christian faith---as far as they go, some being good, some being bad---if you use the line of reasoning which sam harris uses so eloquently in The End of Faith, it is the moderates and those that slap this label on anything charitable, who perpetuate the bad---you can''t have one without the other---it all has to go! to think that human beings are not capable of positive work within our society, without getting a gold star from a fictitious character (s) is preposterous! what a negative view of the human race these people have. i also have to say that i would much rather meditate on the actions of individuals whom we know existed, like Dr. King or Gandhi, etc., in opposition to a fictional character. when someone says "christlike" to me, it is like saying "peter griffin-like"---and even the great family guy character in question is at least animated! i mean, come on. lol.
addendum to previous statement @ rich: also, as the idiots will retort when someone makes a statement about the real actions of individuals who may have been motivated in their own right for religious reasons, but whose impact on our world was so much greater than anything that they read in any of the numerous infamous works of poorly written fiction out there (torah, old testament, new testament, qur'an, book of mormon, dianetics!)---i would ask them if they thought that human beings would not have been capable of these actions, or if they would not have done them if they hadn't been religious. as we know what they will say already, verbatim, i would ask, especially in Dr. King's case about the unseen workers in the movement, many of the members of SNCC etc., who were pivotal in the campaign for civil rights! there were atheists, agnostics, socialists, etc. who were very important in propelling King's message. Christopher Hitchens always has to pull that one out of the bag when debating idiots who always retort with it.
