So just yesterday I posted on the forums (which I learned was the wrong place to post [Thanks Robert! :P]) that I was bored.

"None of my peers seem to offer me intellectual stimulation. I grow bored with their conversations (I realize how haughty that sounds, and I don't intend any egocentricity). I can no longer distract myself with YouTube or my Xbox. I need real, interesting, substantial, intellectual stimulation! Anyone care to help me out? Skype me or something. :/"

And I revieved one reply before the thread was removed.

"As I tell my kids, grandkids, and as I told my former students: being bored says much more about you than about your environment.  There is always something to think about, and thinking HARD, getting down into it is never boring, at least for me.

I'm 67.  I've been bored about twenty minutes my whole life."

And you know what? I think he's right. I probably just have to try harder. It's easy to blame one's friends, complaining about how they don't entertain you, how they don't share your thirst for knowledge. Everyone isn't me. Not everyone wants to delve into theology, politics, history, etc. So, what if I'm alone in these interests, at least within my peer group? No matter. I'll just have to do my best to seek stimulation myself!

Thank you, Brian. :)
