I made a small booklet to educate theists about atheism. Feel free to use it.

[Here is the Revised Version! - please use this instead]

A Religious Person's Guide to Atheism Booklet

In recent years you may have heard a lot about atheism. Prominent atheists such as Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, or Richard Dawkins have appeared on TV and have written books whose very titles you may have found offensive, such as The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. You may have heard people of faith talk about atheists and say many things about them and you may think you have a good idea what an atheist is. Unfortunately, I doubt that you really know what an atheist is, most people don’t, not really. The truth is that there are, and have for a long time, been a lot of myths and misinformation floating around about atheism. Some of these myths are so widespread that they have even made it into dictionaries and guide books about various religions! Thankfully, this little book will clear up all of these misconceptions for you and let you know exactly what atheists are.

Note! There's a typo in this book! Under the definition of atheism it is supposed to say "The only thing atheists hold in common is a lack of belief IN GOD."

You may want to correct that before you print it... I will work on a revised version and post an update when its done.

Doone - Glad you liked it! I compiled it from 2 years of dwelling among the atheist community and gathering the most basic info about what atheism is. Having once been highly religious and having seen how easily the religious can get offended it... I designed it to be readable by someone who had only a high school education and to be dry and basic enough to not be offensive. [Not that I think religion deserves respect! I just realize that people clam up and shut you out if you offend them at step one.]

Doone - what I don't understand is your troll "buddy's" diagram... *confused* So... how does this negate atheism? Shouldn't it look more like this

A. Belief in god(s)/ goddess(es)?

- Yes - Theist

- No - Atheist

- I don't Know - Atheist

[The End]

Really! I mean it's THAT SIMPLE! LOL

BTW... WTF does "spiritual" mean anyway? Although often invoked in regards to religious faith... it doesn't appear to have anything do do with it.
A "spiritual" experience for me is lying out on a clear night and seeing the glory of the milkyway's galactic plane. How the Hell does that require religious faith? Or a metaphysical spirit? ^_^ Just a person with the ability to feel wonder.
