I see no reason to believe in an all powerful god (non intelligent “uncaused cause”)*
No one knows what the does, or what he will do, nor the reasons why
He does not break his own rules of human nature (laws of physics)
There is no such thing as miracles (look up the correct definition of “miracle”)
If god did intervene with the ordinary rules of the world, there would be no way of proving or disproving the action
I have no reason to believe any claims by anyone else, nor the reason to even ask for them to prove it. If they want to follow something blindly, that is their choice, no matter how stupid I can show them they are
If god did come to prove himself to me, I still have the right to question it, on the reason that follows: how do I know he is not the devil? How do I know that for sure that this is the god of human nature? Just because a supernatural force can present itself to me, doesn’t mean he is who he claims.
As far as Adam goes: That story is complete bullshit. To believe that is to bring ignorance to a new level, a level where talking to you about faith would be a fault on my part. However, if you do not believe that the Adam thing happened, you cannot call yourself a Christian because you contradict yourself; if Jesus came to free us from the fall of man, he would have no purpose for doing so if the fall never took place.
As far as Jesus goes: He never existed. If he was really here, the disciple’s stores wouldn’t be so mixed up. And I guess call me crazy, but I can’t believe a loving god would intervene in the world by impregnating a women engaged to be married.
As far a sex goes: Don’t sleep with anyone you would not first consider marrying on the spot. You are committed to that person by default if the worst case scenario happens. It should always move from friendship, to committed, to intimacy in a relationship.
As far as drinking goes: Never drink and drive. If your drinking causes you to become more and more of an asshole, it would be in your best interest to not drink so much. You will know you’re an asshole if less people invite you to parties.
As far as praying goes: To pray for god to intervene in this world is beyond retarded. First, if you belief he as almighty and powerful and that he has a perfect plan, then whatever you tell him will not change it, because in deed, there is no such thing as more perfect.
As far as the bible goes: It is not the word of god. It is a good read and teaches valuable lessons, but upon further review, it does not hold as much water as it is claimed to do. When people speak of its power and how it has changed their life, they fail to realize that all the power comes from the new community of people they have formed with; people that care about issues bigger than them. It’s just like the people at AA and their book.
As treating other people goes: The golden rule always shines true. It is repeated in every religion of the world, from Jesus, to Muhammad, to Buddhism, to Hinduism. It has a power that prevents revenge and thus violence.
"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."
