Australia's new Prime Minister admits non-belief in a god.

Australia's first Lady Prime Minister is a non believer!

Up until now my interest in politics has been dismal, but this has really been an eye opener, we're usually left with the same old white men, dropping the odd line here and there to keep the christian voters happy, Julia Gillard (PM) is bound to stir up some debate, if anything she really does represent the new age Aussies, as long as the retired old farts can't make their way to a voting booth next election, she might be here to stay.
Previous PM Kevin Rudd was quite opposed to Gay marriage, it seems clear that his views stemmed from his strong belief in a super natural being.
"I have a pretty basic view on this, as reflected in the position adopted by our party, and that is, that marriage is between a man and a woman."

So that being said, I look forward to a lengthy stay by our new PM, perhaps some of her open-mindedness will rub off onto the rest of the cretins in her party.

I mean I know how *excited* I was just even when I was at Obama's inauguration and we non-believers were even mentioned by the American president at his inauguration. He addressed us as part of the major groups in the country and in a positive manner, which I think had been unprecedented.

And now the Aussies get an openly non-believer PM? Wow despite all the challenges this century will bring, its looking to be a time of great change!
