I seriously just had a guy I was seeing tell me that he could never see himself marrying me because I don't believe in god.
I'm a little angry and a little proud at the same time. I'm proud that I've taken a stand and will not back down.
Although, I still want to tell him he's a selfish prick and I'm a better human being than he is despite my belief system.
I think a difference in religious belief is a valid reason to stop seeing someone but he strung me along and then dropped this on me out of nowhere. He owes me money too. Ass.

Where can I meet nice boys who don't believe in fairy tails?

"...I'm a better human being than he is despite my belief system." Let me rephrase this. You are a better person than he is BECAUSE of your belief system.

Let me tell you, TA is a good place to start looking for nice boys who don't believe in fairy tails. I found one here! :) Don't date any more religious people... they don't deserve you.

Thanks for the encouraging words Cara. I appreciate it! And you're totally right.

I had a girl I was seeing dump me about 2 months ago. She never really told me why, but I know that the fact that I refused to send any future children to church was at least part of the reason. We had been together for nearly 4 years, and I was more than ready to marry her... I definetely know what you mean about being strung along. Its not easy trying to meet fellow atheists, thats for sure.

That's pretty harsh Jeremy. I guess I'm lucky we only dated for a couple months.

Yeah, the really great thing about it is that she knew how I felt since the very first week we were together and never really seemed to care (she wasn't particularly relgious herself, guess people change?).

That's the exact same issue in my "relationship". He knew from the first conversation we had that I was an atheist. He even said he was agnostic. Lame.

Wow, obviously he doesn't quite understand the term?

Sad, but probably true :(

I could never see myself dating a Theist...I feel like they'd feel like they were on another playing field in life. The last thing you want is your SO to pity you for not going to some glorious heaven with them. *rolls eyes* It also seems it would be a hard compromise if children were added to the equation. Lets hope the boys on here don't believe in fairy tales. :P I would just start chatting with people here. You never know how it could turn out. :)
