Lets not pull any punches, atheist snobbery is dark blight on the atheist movement. Before I go on I will copy a definition of snobbery from wikipedia .

A snob is someone who adopts the worldview of snobbery – that some people are inherently inferior to him or her for any one of a variety of reasons, including real or supposed intellect, wealth, education, ancestry, etc. Often, the form of snobbery reflects the snob's personal attributes. For example, a common snobbery of the affluent is the affectation that wealth is either the cause or result of superiority, or both, and a common snobbery of the physically attractive is that beauty is paramount.

I don't want to call these people snobs, I need something a bit stronger. From now I will call them wankers. I can see the eyebrows being raised by my use of words, however snobbery in any form makes me sick to the pit of my stomach and requires a word that equates with my anger when writing.

What purpose can there be with this attitude, are they so far up their own arses that they cant see what a backward step this is. The worldwide atheist movement has made fantastic strides in getting to were it is at this present time. This has been due to the intellectual minds of some of the world leading scientists and academics. Do these people not want to see atheism
The atheist movement being nothing more than the thoughts and views of a minority of the best brains. There's a fight to be won for the minds of the ordinary Joe and Jane.

I have came across such snobbery many time in the Richard Dawkins forums. In my experience the Richard Dawkins forums is a hot bed of snobbery.

The way forward needs the masses to make any type of worthwhile change away from religious involvement in politics, education and foreign policy in governments the world over. Look at Africa for an example.
If we could somehow open the eyes of millions of ordinary people away from dogma and brainwashing it would have a great impact on the condon issue. Lets not just say they are a lost cause and leave it at that but that's the impact that snobbery has.

Atheism did not just come to me through academic intellect, I wish that would have been the case, no, I had to learn and that new knowledge comes from the the top and works it way down, thrrough outlets such as the media. When it reached myself I then set about finding out more.

All I ask is that people in position, take there heads from said arse and help lets make a difference. I believe that they would be surprised at just how many people actually want to learn, to explore their believes and come to a positive conclusion based on the available evidence we have. Not to be looked upon as worthless shite. Fucking wankers

I am not saying that we don't need the intellectuals, of course we do, but we need many, many more of the people inflicted by years of brainwashing and dogma..There are many reason why millions of people have not come to the same conclusion that me and you, however that's for another rant at a later time.

I have started to loose my train of thought, this is again due to my dependence on cannabis so please take this into account. I will recap on my main points.

1.intellectual snobbery in the atheist community is alive and well, this issue needs to be addressed.
2.The atheist movement will not go forward with just the cram of the crop, its needs people to be educated and not sneered at.
3.Lets be a movement were we all look at each other in the same regard as to our beliefs that there is no god or gods.
4.If you happen to be intelligent and / or a very knowledgeable individual then hold out your hand to the less fortunate. We need them.

Lets make a difference and kick atheist snobbery into touch

Some people hate English.
I don't! They're just wankers!
We, on the other hand,
are colonized by wankers!
One thousand years from now, there'll be
no guys and no girls, just wankers.
