I had possibly the worst dinner ever last night. I forgot it was ash wednesday. Never again. Neeeeverrrr again. There was a table of people who had obviously gone to church. Even if they hadn't had big blacks splotches on their foreheads we would have known. They would not SHUT UP about damn church. The one woman was outright giving bible classes to the other two people she was with. and they were soooo LOUD. I outright hit the table with my head at one point.

I know some people think I can be a dick for my 'religious intolerance' but I don't think wanting to wat dinner with my boyfriend without being subject to some religious fucktards rantings... Ugh.

spend the day watching The Evil Dead, Alien, Dante's Peak, and old episodes of Pokemon in a single sitting. #AshWednesday

It's worth noting that non-believers are expected to put up with this, because they have the right to celebrate their religion without worrying about what others think of their celebrations (possibly fair enough in a free society). But if a table of atheists had been celebrating their free thinking so loudly, you can bet your house that they would have straight over to berate them for being offensive.

Something of a double standard.

So glad I was off work today and didn't have to see everyone parading around with the sooty foreheads.  That would have annoyed me big time.

I will forever refer to ash wednesday as ass wednesday.   Thanks for that, ZA.

You think that is bad, I am in a Catholic High School and we had to sit through the whole mass. Now I admit I did agree that I would put up with this when I decided to go and I was a Catholic at the time, but it is still silly. Oh well, not much you can do...

You are welcome Lisa. And Gabriel, I'm not unknown to this whole thing, I've gone to those masses as well. I was raised Lutheran....
