I think you are very brave and it must be very freeing to take off the headscarf but also VERY scary for you. We all wish you the best of luck adjusting to the realization that Islam is not the truth. Unfortunately I know pretty much nothing about what life is like in Morocco. How dangerous is it there? You are asking us how long must you act and pretend in order to stay safe. I have no idea. What is your country like, what is your family like even? Would anyone accept you as different or would they hurt you or do something awful to you if they found out you are not Muslim anymore?

Your safety has to take priority. No matter what, do not endanger yourself. I know a lot of Muslim countries still have some very barbaric laws concerning atheism.

I wish I could help you more.
If you feel that you really are in danger, I'd suggest applying for refugee status in the U.K. It would be a very fresh start with a very new life. You'd never have to worry about not wearing a headscarf or any other issues for being atheist.

Yeah, I agree your safety MUST take priority, and I too wish I could help you more than I can.

congratulations kiki on making what must be a very scary and very liberating decision to accept reason and rationality despite what must be enormous pressure to conform to your religious traditions. definitely do your best to stay safe and given what you have said about how people speak of non-muslims it may mean having to leave the country as Misty suggested. I wish you the best in your efforts.

Wow! Congrats on your new way of thinking. I agree with Misty and the others. Your safety is most important. All the best to you! Man! I think we take for granted the freedom we have in America sometimes. Don't get me wrong, we get heat for being atheists too but we certainly would be arrogant to compare it to what many others have to face. Good luck to you KiKi. Please be safe!
