"It is a great tragedy that science, this wonderful process for finding out what is true, has ceded the spiritual uplift of its central revelations: the vastness of the universe, the immensity of time, the relatedness of all life, and life’s preciousness on our tiny planet." Ann Druyan

And who have we ceded this uplifting of the HUMAN spirit to?... Theists....Religion, mysticism, etc..
Science has expanded the size and scale of our universe beyond our wildest imaginings... There's more mystery and wonder in the natural world than in anything previously conceived for a supernatural realm. Yet we let the religious have almost all the say in the realms of wonder and awe. Why?
What can be done to highlight and showcase this wonder; to capture the 'spirit' of adventure and spark the curiousity and creativity of our youth towards science, skepticism, rationality and reason?
I thought this was a great talk by Ann and just wanted to know others opinions of it.
