..and I thank God for...

"I thank God for all he has done for me."
"I know God has a plan for me."
"God knows what is best for me."
"Thank you, God, for helping me ______"

I feel.. negative emotions. Not anger, not hate, but when people say things like that, I feel this feeling that I can't describe.
Why do people thank their god for the work they've done? Some people don't even take credit for the things they've done, they credit it to their god. I know some people who have worked extremely hard to get where they are, and they don't credit themselves, they credit their god!!! Their god didn't do anything, THEY did!!!

I don't understand the mentality of people.

Comment by a7 on March 19, 2010 at 8:30pm: i get the same feelings when people, people who I think are semi intellegent. The feelinggs are of hoplelessness and hope all mixed together, then the anger set in , ending with frustration and the deep desire for a large joint.

Comment by kelltrill on March 20, 2010 at 7:30am: I've heard people in dire situations saying, "God will help me out," and then sitting on their backsides and not doing anything proactive to help themselves. Whether all people who "thank" God do this or not, enforcing that mentality is a horribly bad idea.
