An Officer's Experience in Our Christian Military

This was posted on the blog Dispatches From The Culture Wars, which is written by Ed Brayton.

It's a truly disheartening and depressing comment on the state of our military, and the attempts (mostly successful it seems) to turn it into God's Personal Army Against The Infidel.

Thanks for the link. I met former Army Captain Jason Torpy at the SSACon09 a couple weeks ago. He was representing the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers. Think it's about time to offer some volunteer time to the MAAF.

I can't imagine being so broken as a person that I would put up with that. The games would begin until I was booted. 6 months in the brig or a career of that? Fuck it, I'm gone and taking your daughters panties with me.

My stint (1972-76) in the Air Force was a long time ago. There were no religious overtones of any kind at any time. There must have been a huge change in the last 33 years.

I don't remember it being like this when I was growing up in the military (Army brat) either. Things have certainly changed.
