I have often heard that some of the most religious people in my small town have beat their wives.

Now, any abuse towards women is highly messed up.

But when I hear that these supposed Christians are doing it, it makes it that much worse.

I just want to know if there is anything in the Bible that these men are reading that would lead them to believe that they have a biblical right to abuse their wives.

I know that people wanna say "spare the rod, spoil the child", and I don't know if that's straight from the Bible, but does it say anything about how to "keep your wife in line"?

There, fixed it for you...

How does that make it worse? Muslims are stereotyped to treat their women worse. Makes no difference to the fact that abuse has happened and any abuse is just terrible.

As expected, the bible is a horrible book... here are a few examples: genesis 3:16, Colossians 3:18, 1 Timothy 2:12.
