Me and my wife had a very interesting talk yesterday. She mentioned something I thought would be good post to the free thinking people of T/A. (I put it in blog form to keep better track of it)

How can there be a true (100%) free thinker?

She mention that it would not be possible to be one because every one has a bias.

For example murder- we will make an assessment of the act without knowing what is actually going through his/her mind. Thus we tend to not be open minded about. I know this is an extreme but it does make me think.

I would like your input because I do feel it a worthy question for the brain pool here.

I agree with both Nelson and Kasu. A person without experience would be a person who is truly free from bias, hence they do no exist.

Considering the more traditional definition of freethinker I would say that such a person could exist, although a freethinker could of course still be affected by bias him/her self.

I wanted to see what defines freethought for others on this site. My (theistic) wife was curious on what defines true freethinking. I told her that I would post it here so I could give her more than just my own opinion on the subject. I do appreciate your input. She interested in my decision of being an atheist so I wanted to give her some insight.

@Walter,

I explained it to a theistic friend that freethinking is about following the evidence and using the best tools possible to reach the best possible explanation or solution. I'm a freethinker because it f*cking works! Science FTW!

Thank you all for your contributions. It was an experiment basically testing my own free thinking mode. I thank my wife for her input. So my summary is there can be no 100% true aspect of anything without some sort of bias which life experience bring. I also agree.
