I had a though today that I won't propose as having any scientific basis whatsoever, but could possibly be a good question to kick off a thought experiment just to see where the path would lead: what if we considered DNA as a virus that infected the earth?
Comment by Diane on November 23, 2011 at 5:06am That's really strange because when I was a kid I had a theory that we lived on God's head and were basically a very bad parasitic infection. I thought of this only in relation to humans, as a life form that had gone out of control and was destroying its host. In a sense I still think it is true. I do think of the Earth and the cosmos as the "creator" in that life as we know it so far arose here from available materials. I don't think we can destroy the host, but we may make it uninhabitable.
