I would say a muslim would be voted into being the PM in the UK b4 that would ever happen in the US.

1. The Founding Fathers were deists not Atheist, but with the evidence and theories we have now in science explaining the world around us, they might as well just be labeled Atheist. I agree that it is currently impossible for one to get elected to major office without subscribing to the Judeo-Christian Faith. What that means is that we must fight the stigmas and unjustified discrimination in order for later atheists to be somewhat more closer to equality. It would and will take time, but if we do nothing....then indeed an Atheist will NEVER hold high office in the United States.

P.S. Australia is much worse than the US, as it doesn't even have a "wall" between Church and State. Over there, state money is funneled to religious education, and mass religious indoctrination in the schools is allowed. (Ok, that may have been a tad overstated, but they do allow representatives of Christian faiths to take the floor in schools but they don't allow secular equivalents to do the same.)
