ok im a disciple of Christ before anything. I bet i just lost half of the people that were reading this with that first sentence :/ well i would like to let everyone on this site know i LOVE them no less than my own mother. I bet the Atheists on this site or the ones reading this have been hated, talked about, and made fun of by alot of Christians... it makes me sick! I dont do that matter of fact one of my good friends is agnostic :) Well im open for questions and everything else.

Love and Peace

Hi; welcome to TninkAtheist; glad you could join us and be more openminded than most other religious people.

Even though you are a believer and I a non believer I think it is great you have decided to join this site; it just shows how open minded you are.

Welcome, I appreciate you being here. This is a great opportunity for some healthy conversation without all of the hostility.

Welcome Travis. I have only a small quibble with your post: if you say you love everyone on this site (all complete, anonymous strangers to you) no less than your own mother, doesn't this make a mockery of the whole concept of love? You might do many random acts of kindness for strangers, you might feel a general sense of benevolence towards humanity as a whole, but surely you can only systematically care for, nurture, care about and feel affection for a limited number of people, and these are usually people you know, your friends and family. If you disagree with this, I'd be interested to hear your definition of love.

do not give us your sympathy because we have been "hated, talked about, and made fun of by alot of Christians". We don't need it. I appreciate you being more "Christ-like" than most Christians...but the fact of the matter is all of that hate and whatnot has only bolstered our points of view in that clearly we are not the ones who need to use childish attacks to try and back up our ideals. what I would really like to see you do is come on the site, and instead of claiming you are "a disciple of christ"... listen to what the people on this site have to say and educate yourself on the beliefs of others and their reasons for those beliefs. If you still keep your beliefs after truly examining them from an outside point of view, then more power to you. but please, save your sympathy for people who actually need it.

Welcome to Think Atheist Travis,

I hope, you can get a positive perspective from the Non-believers here and are able to spread the word to other Christians.

You should also check out Athiest Nation. They welcome theists and they are willing to discuss and debate (make sure you have done your research before taking on an arguement or discussion there though).

Having said this, is Think Atheist now allowing theists on this site? I don't have a problem with it at all, but thought that this was a non-believer site only. Anyway, I love a good discussion with people with different perspectives.

Enjoy yourself Travis! :)

Some people here could be true assholes unworthy of your love. Why love strangers as much as you love your mother?

As long as you don't force your beliefs down my throat.... I welcome you.

@ River Otter, Think Atheist has always welcomed anyone. As long as they are respectful and actually Think.
