Those are what is called "Silver Certificates". Meaning their face value can be exchanged for that much in silver.

 

Funny how money went from being backed by silver to trusting in god. No wonder it ain't worth a shit now :P

It's beautiful yes , not that I personally have any issue with it , but isn't the angel wings and the trumpet blowing sort of obviously symbolic of errr  ...  Christianity?   

 

Like I said though , I like it.  It's pretty.  But someone else might have an issue with it.
