Hello to everyone; Cool sight this is. This is my first blog, ever. I have no clue what so ever what to write or how to place it's contents. I have had a significant amount of travels, encounters, traumas and anger inducing experiences. I have a desire to share and elicit from you some thoughts. Interesting thing about humans is we really are truly fascinating creatures. Nothing like us on this Spaceship we call Earth.

I'm a staunch Atheist and have very strong feelings about religion and how it blindsides the people who need it.

Good luck with that. No one "needs" religion. People accept it as truth cause they're too lazy to think for themselves. Plain and simple.

(just can't help myself sometimes)

One of the best articles I've read on the subject and it supports my contention that the mind can't exist outside of the human body. This truth should put an end to supernatural thinking. But read the whole article. Martha Robinson does a very good job of explaining her position and then defending it in the peanut gallery.

I'm not sure if this is a typo, or if I'm just not understanding, but could you please clarify the following:  Your profile states that you are an atheist, but in your blog entry you write " I'm a staunch Theist...".  Which one is it?  Or if you fit into some 'other' category, what sort of category might that be?

So are you a theist, deist, or atheist? All are welcome here just be sure to check your "baggage" at the door.   :^ )

It is a typo. I am an Atheist. I did not mean to post this at the time and was working on adding more to my blog. As I said I'm new to this site and doing a blog. I pressed the wrong button, I was trying to save it for another day when I could add to it.

But I have more I want to say.

The size of our Universe, what we know about it, makes us all feel awfully small and insignificant doesn't it? Unless you know God created the universe just 5,000 years ago. Hmm. He certainly has one hell of a way of showing his greatness and superiority.

Create the Universe only 5,000 years ago, plant Dinosaur bones and make them appear to be Millions of years old. Give man the ability to use the science he has given us to do all kinds of things that could not be done 100 years ago.

BUT, allow mankind to have hatred and senselessly kill each other in the name of Religion. Cancer, Disease, Natural Disasters, etc. etc. etc...

What a mysterious God he is.

OH! Then there's the biggest of ALL, leave not a single trace of his existence.

Sorry for being an ass. Apologies. I get that way when I think a theist is in here to set us straight and be holier-than-thou. Welcome and best of luck to you! :)

Not a problem. People are who they are and we all have an opinion. But as I wrote I did not intend to post this when I did, I was working on it and needed to proof everything.

It's just a quirk of the site that blogs saved as drafts sit in the blog approval queue for moderators.  Sometimes they get published by mistake.
