I am a Hoosier, born and raised. I will say I feel for the victims of the tragic accident at the State Fair Saturday, August 13. What I fail to understand is how everyone, in the aftermath, is being asked to pray for the victims and their families and friends. I would think if anything were to define "Act of God" it would be a sudden and unexpected gust of wind strong enough to destroy a steel framed concert stage.
Why is it no one ever blames their God for tragic events but always seeks comfort from him in the aftermath? Wouldn't it have been better if God hadn't caused the stage to fall to begin with? 5 (and possibly more) deaths and over 40 injuries would have been prevented and everyone would have had a fantastic night if God had simply not caused the storm. Why aren't the believers asking "Why?" instead of seeking comfort from the culprit. To me, it would be like a family asking their child's murderer to comfort them after the murder.
I really don't understand the thought process. I really don't.
