Kevin, jesus taught in the temple, according to the myth, when he was 13 and he marveled teachers with his wisdom, so you may want to check out the bible before you make claims about this jesus figure you defend. and why do you think he is an environmentalist?

 

Now atheists have a problem with an energy/spiritual connection of any kind yet the energy which we are and that which makes up everything and everywhere and gives forth unchallenged exists

 

if you read more than the bible, you will find many atheists believe in a spiritual aspect of existence, Sam Harris speaks openly about it, and hints at buddhist philosophy as a way to express this.

 

please, don't come on here and tell us what we think, feel and believe...

I believe there is a truth in everything and that all can be answered if searched for that one single thing, for example what women argue about the male population which men deny has merrit...yet denied...

Now, I humble can not admit that I am an actual atheist and neither was Jesus, we are both anti-religious yet understand that there is a manipulated existence to the truth that religion dominates and believe that is the sole reason people turn away from the possibility of something greater than ourselves,

 

atheists believe in NO gods, that does not mean we don't acknowledge the possibility that there may be more to existence than we may know at this point, but to paint ALL of us with the same brush is naive and very narrow minded. you come here telling us to be open minded, yet are guilty of the narrowness of thought you claim we carry. The issue we have with jesus is that he probably didn't exist as there is more evidence to his NOT having lived on this earth than there is to his having lived. His teachings are pretty much buddhist in scope and no one i know has ever claimed jesus to be an atheist...

 

please, adjust your tone and try to elicit true dialogue with the people here, we can offer much wisdom on many aspects of life to you and those who read these pages.

Wow. . . When first reading your blog, I thought you were going to be one of those people who believe god is energy and that any religious figure/god is man made. Then, you totally flip it back around when you mention Jesus. Outside of the Bible, there is no conclusive historical evidence of Jesus. Though some people do take sides on the existence of Jesus, I am agnostic toward an opinion. 

 

I'm just really confused by your post. At first you say religion is man made and then you go on to quote the Bible. Isn't the Bible completely mad made? How can you be so sure Jesus actually spoke those words and some man didn't just add it in?

 

Atheists & Hatred: This is only brought up by people who have never actually had an intellectual conversation with atheists. Stick around and you'll see that your assumptions toward us are simply not true.

I can't believe I just wasted two minutes of my life reading that....

 

As an atheist, I disagree with organized religion and it's attempts, mainly by extremists and fundamentalists, to force religious law/belief upon everybody. Though I do not believe in any sort of supernatural power(s) or entities, I do respect the rights of others to believe if they wish to do so, and as long as they are not trying to convert me or preaching hatred I'm not all that bothered by them.

 

There is no actual empirical proof that the biblical jesus ever existed in the first place. To me, the myth of jesus is akin to Aesop's Fables. It is just a story with an intended moral meaning.

 

I'm not even sure what you were trying to prove with your rant. You say you want to have a respectful discussion, yet your words and all-caps paragraphs say otherwise.

Well, Jesus is god if you buy the trinity, but that would mean that jesus was either complicit in raping his own mom or was just watchin'.
