I rerember seeing a quote a few years back, i think it was from the koran or hadiths, saying something along the lines of - "allah is allowed to contradict himself"
i recently tried to goole it and found nothing.
The effect of abrogation is that if there is a contradiction in the texts then whatever is later written supersedes whatever was written before. If it says in the texts that it is bad to kill an innocent unbeliever, but later on there is a passage which says it is good to kill an unbeliever for this or that, then the latter has superseded the earlier passage and the earlier passage is no longer in effect.
Muslims often quote a peaceful passage which speaks of tolerance from muhammads early days of weakness shortly after he invented islam, but they do not inform people that those peaceful passages are no longer in effect because they have been abrogated and superseded by later passages after muhammad had achieved greater military strength and was terrorizing, and murdering and robbing everyone he could.
These pesky gods get all confused I suppose and think better of their earlier mistakes made when drunk or under the influence of the godly narcotic ambrosia, so they just abrogate away their silly mistakes. Any god can make a mistake you know because writing coherent prose is a difficult task so don't judge them too harshly for not being perfect. They were working long hand without the aid of computers so we shouldn't expect perfection.
Not sure about that but he does contradict the heck out of himself on a regular basis:
