Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Hello everyone at TA! My name is Nathan Bauder. I am 18 years old and have been an atheist for about 4-5 years. It actually started out as agnostisism, and as I grew older and gave everything some heavy thought, I finally converted to Atheism.

I realized that the Bible is NOT truth, nor anything like that, but a book created by man, for man. That God can't possibly love everyone he supposedly created, if he "hates" homosexuals and lets thousands of starving children in third-world countries die. That science and technology heal people, not clasping hands in prayer. That someone who repents, no matter what the sin is (murder, stealing, etc.) automatically has his/her slate wiped clean and allowed into "heaven". None of it made any sense.

I also beleived that homosexuality WAS wrong, and that it was a sin and something to make fun of when I was younger. Until recently, when I met a friend who I got to know so well that I eventually deveolped a "crush" on him. Then I knew that gender doesn't matter a bit at all. (Buuut I digress...)

My goal here is to keep on learning, really. Alot of you seem like really nice people, and I can't wait to get to know you fellas.

Nate welcome to TA and I applaud your break into reason and free thought. Of many of the "sins" of the Christians, the hate towards the homosexual community is something that I have no tolerance for. If there was a man such as Christ, he would've accepted everyone regardless of their sexual orientation. Any argument to say otherwise is idiotic. You are a free thinker now. Be proud of it. Stand up and speak out. If you need advice or have questions please ask us.
