I used to be able to laugh when I channel-surfed to TBN. I used to giggle and make up other words when I saw those WWJD bracelets. I used to initiate conversation and ask intelligent, light-hearted questions when I met believers. There was a time when there was no one with a more "live and let live" philosophy than myself. Then, someone told my daughter (who is 12) that she had to be careful about going to hell because I am an atheist. Then, states across the nation excised evolution from science textbooks, robbing our children of truth. Then, people who want to "safeguard the sanctity of life and traditional marriage" and think that the Earth is really 6,000 years old gain a following of millions-and they want MY tax money. This shit is not funny anymore.

Tell'em Maggie. Why are Atheists so "angry" again?

We're angry because the whole world is being played for fools by perpetuators of bull crap.

I'm angry because I am a member of the most educated, fair-minded, logical group in the world; that same minority also happens to be the most misunderstood and maligned. In short, I'm tired of allowing people to demonize me. The ironic part is the shocked look I get from people when I'm "outed". No kidding, EVERY believer who finds me out says the same thing: "But you're so... (insert nice, intelligent, moral-you get the idea). And yet their pigeonholing of atheists continues...

When separation of church and state go far enough out of this country, so don't my family and I. Hell we are voters and we try and try again, I register people to vote and I talk to people and make an ass of myself, get unfriended over stupid shit... but if people like me fail.....a minority that turns out to be bigger than they planned will probably show them exactly what fucked up economy and loss really looks like.

I'm angry because I don't want to die in a "my god has a bigger dick than your god" war.
