Pam, that's why I have a problem with the phrase "Evolutionist." Technically, we're all "evolutionists" but the term itself can sound quasi-religious, and fundie nutbags waste no time in exploiting it.

The comments I've heard...
"With all the evidence of God, how can you not believe?"
"Pagans are the same as Satan worshipers, and Atheits are even worse."

And the semi-famous quote by Bush One that I've had paraphased at me a few times:
"No, I don't know that Atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots."

Being an ex-soldier, I'll second the "no atheists in foxholes" rhetoric.

Oh and the ignorance of some associating the words "atheist" and "anarchist" to mean the same thing.

Atheists hate God and we're just being rebellious by denying His existence...

How can you hate something that doesn't exist? I'm definitely not mad at God; he didn't make himself up.

Yeah, Nancy... nothing could piss me off more than being called close-minded. I just turned my world perspective upside-down because I didn't want to be closed off to ANYthing... it was an accident that I became atheist, but it was only because I was open to learning.

Technically though, I think I see it appear as "Xtian" much more often than "Xian" (Xian is actually a Chinese name).

I personally really love/hate this hilarious one:

Atheists don't believe in god because they aren't opening their hearts and "feeling" him.

This is particularly creepy and there is no way of countering that without being blunt and informing them that "feeling" something that isn't really there is a sign of mental disorder.
