great blog man, i speakm of this with the kids, I will tell them that science and technology will make them and their kids live longer than anyone from any other time in history. I personally do want to live forever, new heart, and lungs and some kind of stopping of the ageing process would be nice.

My reason are to see the future changes and what science will bring.

1. life on other moons of planets, intellegent or not
2. men on mars
3. a moon base
4.space travel beyond the solar system
5.generations of little a7's
6. first contact
7. radio signal from others forms of life, re setti
8. the earth and the debate about global warming
9 the total end of religon
10 the LHC and its results
11. the moving of the continents back to a pervious time where my country scotland was in the equator region( would save on holidays)

I am sure i will live for some of these but not the really big questions.

Thanks for all the comments. I have always been into futurism and I am just so curious about future history, science fiction becoming science fact, the end of religions and the age of reason. These are all things I would love to see but I don't think it will happen in my lifetime.

Hey I'm ready for the time that we can make a copy of our brains down to the last memory and make a positronic (or some kind of durable consciousness and thinking equivalent) brain to upload them to... Drop off the human bodies for a longer lasting upgrade. Then we might have the time and the ability to explore the universe.

LOL... How's that for science fiction?

If you think about it.. the internet is becoming the forerunner to some kind of human 'gestault'. The possibilities are only as limited as our imagination.

brandon, surley if we got to that stage we must be able to add memory. Is that what you meant by storage.

Before we at all reach that stage, we reach a very, very formidable roadblock.

The population. The world population is quickly outgrowing the resources that the earth is capable of sustaining. Until we solve this problem, prolonged lives will be more of a hindrance than a help.

John - It seems that if we as a species started living in a more sustainable manner that we could handle a larger population. Not to reference a cartoon, but remember Futurama? They didn't know what garbage was because everything was recycled.
