While sitting in the parking lot of a local grocery store waiting on my wife I had a vehicle pass by with an interesting state license plate. Here in Arkansas, as in other states I'm sure, you can get personalized plates or plates of a specific theme if you cough up the extra moolah. This particular plate had a picture of the Little Rock state capitol with the emboldened words next to it: In GOD WE TRUST. I thought this represented a very specific violation of church and state as it permits theists to openly display their belief without offering atheists a similar sign post. This plate image is basically implying that the proceedings taking place in the secular capitol building are done with the blessings of an invisible being. Huh?
Why can't I get the same capitol image that has the words: No God Necessary.
