Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is an Atheist

Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who has player Harry Potter in the films of that name, has confirmed in an Esquire interview that he is an atheist. As reported in The Telegraph, Radcliffe not only identified himself as an atheist in this interview but expressed his respect for Richard Dawkins. I suppose Christian extremists have yet another reason to boycott the Harry Potter films.
Radcliffe was quoted as saying,
I'm an atheist, but I'm very relaxed about it. I don't preach my atheism, but I have a huge amount of respect for people like Richard Dawkins who do. Anything he does on television, I will watch.

Awesome! I believe I saw something referencing him as such on TA not long ago. Good to see him being honest about it, and this could actually help build some positive awareness for us.

I always knew I liked him - I mean who else but a heathen would participate in a play about fucking a horse? :)
Regardless, what a brave thing to do in this day and age where something like that could EASILY break your career.

Same here. I may just have to go buy all the movies now. My fiance will be happy, she loves the movies (I haven't seen them yet, but plan on getting up to date for the next one).
