Taliban claims responsibility for attempted murder of 14 year old Pakistani girl.

Yesterday the Taliban carried out a 'hit' on a 14 year old Pakistani girl who has been vocal and outspoken on the Internet and in her local community about the rights of women to seek & receive an education. She survived but is in critical condition after being wounded in the head and neck. The Taliban said her behavior is blasphemous and must not be tolerated. And that upon her recovery and release from the hospital she will be targeted again. The misogynistic attitude of extreme Islam is reprehensible but I am totally shocked at the limited protest and uproar of the Pakistani people over this incident. There was protest but in a country of 175 million the few hundred who did take to the streets of a few cities demonstrates a society that must live in fear and ignorance.

I wish it could be done to pass a law that whenever a terror group claims "responsibility" for some horrendous outrage, the press would have to say that they claimed "irresponsibility" instead. But of course that would be unconstitutional.

Only in the Muslim world is the plea: "God told me to kill them" accepted.

Brave (and lucky) girl.  It's good to see that this is getting the attention in the international community that it deserves.

Women around the world did not die for the cause, but were willing to do so - a person gets pushed so far, before there is any retaliation  - but as in the Suffragette days, they were also willing to die. There will be more bloodshed by women, as the women band together, and support each other. This is what I meant in another post I made, these men are scared of loosing their power - but the light is shining on these shitheads - which will give the women and girls more strength to go through tripe, torture and even death.

@Ed Roughly handled - probably beaten.
