@James Cox - RE: "What I see is yet one more attempt by a troll/theist to force others to validate the theist/troll belief system."

I liken it to poking a hornet's nest, then running - you're sitting under a shade tree an hour later, sipping a cold brew, and the wasps are still buzzing around, burning up energy, trying to find the intruder.

I'll admit, I've been banned from this site for doing much the same thing! These are not forgiving people:

Keep God In Schools!

Allow teacher's to discuss their faith when a (shill) student asks a (predetermined) question regarding said faith.
Positions

    2.    Allow faith and moral guidelines to be AVALAIBLE in school, NOT TAUGHT AS IN REQUIRED CLASS! (so as to avoid 1st Amendment law suits!)
    3.    Fight for the freedoms of religion and expression that this country promises. (as long as they're Christian!)

(Emphasis, mine.)

Seems they want you to pledge to contact a hundred people and spread their message, and if they don't get 100 new members, bearing your personal code, they browbeat you with admonishing emails for not living up to your pledge. Rather unChristian of them, I must say.

The worst of it is, that i even AGREED with them! I told them I STRONGLY believed that not enough is known about Ganesh, and that school is the best place I could think of , to spread the word.

Now their software recognizes my IP address and won't print my comments -- :(( crying

1. I'm not afraid of dying. Those who need to make up places are just too scared of dying to the point that they have to pretend.

2. I will decompose or be cremated when I die. What a silly question

3. primates.

4. refer to links above this post

5. you'd be dead to feel sad about stuff you're losing.

6. Other creatures on other planets. Of course.

7. no. I notice ghosts only appear for religious people.

8. I believe in myself yes.

9. All jokes aside. Everyone is born an atheist until they are fooled into believing. Everyone would be better off knowing that there isn't a man in the clouds peeping into girl's locker rooms 24/7

#1. How do you go day by day living knowing one day you'll die and you'll have nothing to look forward to, just be dead?

First of all, I'll use some assumptions about where punctuation should be used... otherwise your question is too hard to make sense of. My heart keeps beating despite knowing one day it will stop. It is a natural process. Psychologically, this is something I struggle with from time to time. At the moment, I like to think that the actions I take during my life will improve the lives of my children (and their children, etc).

#2. What do you believe will happen to you when your dead? Will that just be it?

That would be my best guess, yes. Would be lovely to know for sure though.

#3. Do you really think our ancestors were monkeys? (explain why?)

Yes, in the same way that I am slightly different from my parents, and they are slightly different from their parents. It's also known as the theory of evolution, which I won't go into any detail about here.

#4. Explain- Evolution?

I don't understand this question. Very rarely can a single word be used with a question mark and still make sense in a meaningful way.

how did apes evolve?

From monkeys. Again, I'm not going to explain the entire theory of evolution to you... you can study it like everyone else.

#5.  Are you afraid that you were born in this world to die alone example: you lived a beautiful life in which you built over the years from learning new things helping others out, struggles, having beautiful children building a life for you and your family but then all of what you built was for nothing because once you die that's the end of your life.

This poorly punctuated question is basically the same as question #1. My answer is also the same.

#6. Do you believe there are aliens?

In the US, aren't Mexicans aliens? By the very definition of the word, aliens exist. It means some one or thing which doesn't belong.

#7.  Do you believe there's ghosts?

No, I haven't seen any evidence for ghosts myself, and have been unconvinced by the evidence provided by others.

#8. Do you believe that there is some type of God out there? (Why? Why not?)

No, same reason as for ghosts.

#9. Why are you an Atheist?

I am an atheist because religion was never taught to me as fact during my childhood. It's the same reason the majority of people in India are Hindu and not Christian, because that's what they were taught.

Why do you NOT believe in God?

I see no reason to... didn't we cover this in question #8?

Why would you reject God ?

I would reject God (assuming he were real and I believe in him) because he is insanely vain and malevolent.

Wow, that was a fun quiz. What's your answers?

Comment by Dara on August 5, 2012 at 2:38pm

to all my answers:

first of all to those who comment about me being a retard, and throw my religion under the bus this is a question so i could see what others have to say because i wanted to know if all atheists believed in the same thing. I know how evolution happened i want to know how our dna changed for us to become human? anyways why do atheist think people who believe in God have to live in Godliness or go to hell? we aren't HOLY PEOPLE and im far from it. I actually could live my life knowing there's no God i choose not to because i look at how beautiful and ugly life could be and it's not just by an "accident.", so when you say my life wouldn't be pointless without 'theistic beliefs' your right it would be i dont want to Just Exist but to live an know the meaning of my life with that said It is important for me to help others not just rely on God to do all the work for us, otherwise how can we be transformed back into the likeness of God so that we can live with Him forever? =)

* not on top of the clouds. why do you think God is up in the sky?

Why do atheist mockers think that God is obligated to protect them from the storms of life, or to make anything good out of them?

Look: these atheist mockers try and push it out of their government; they push God out of their schools; they push God out of their lives; and they are desperately trying to push God completely out of society as a whole! And they hypocritically whine and complain when God isn't there!

Sorry, but the atheist only make hypocrites of themselves when they
say that God isn't there!

God never rejected the atheist; the atheist continually rejects God!

believing in god is a matter of faith and if you dont believe in God it doesn't mean that god doesn't exist it simply means you dont believe in faith... i know this is not 100% proof but "he who has faith does not need proof.(=

Why do atheist mockers think that God is obligated to protect them from the storms of life, or to make anything good out of them?

Generally speaking, I don't believe that's true.  What probably appears strange to many atheists is that believers don't seem to get any protection over atheists.  Assuming that only believers are protected by God in a hypothetical model, there doesn't appear to be any statistical difference between those protected by God and those receiving no protection at all (at least in this life, which is the only one we can verify).  One of two thing seems likely.  There is no such thing as godly protection for anyone, or faith has no bearing on being protected.  In either case, it's not a great outcome for believers.

Furthermore, atheists aren't whining and complaining that God isn't there for us.  We don't believe in gods to begin with, so it's a bit difficult to get upset over that.  We whine and complain that theists keep asserting God's works when we point out all evidence to the contrary.  God does not protect Christians more than atheists or members of faiths in this life and there is no evidence for any lives beyond this one.  From an atheistic perspective, the reason for this is pretty likely that no such god exists.

i know this is not 100% proof but "he who has faith does not need proof.(=

Frankly, that's why people here think you are wasting our time.

#1. How do you go day by day believing in fairy tales? > fairytales have meaning in my life.

#2. What do you believe will happen to you when you die? Will you live on a fluffy little cloud after passing through a big golden gate? i believe when i die my soul will go on somewhere until Jesus comes back for all of us to be with him. Heaven isn't seen until after we are judged.

#3. Do you really think our ancestors all evolved from a brother and sister? > Yes, a man and woman.

#4. Explain the creation of the universe. Why did it take the all powerful "God" 6 days to create the earth? If earth came first, he should still be creating the universe as we speak. 6 days could be 6,000 years 600,000 years 60,000 years 600,000,000 years for all we know the bible doesn't mean 6 days specific. earth never came first because it says " God created the heavens, and the earth" so really our solar system was built before the earth.i believe the big bang theory but i don't think it was coincidence that our earth was built in a inhabitable zone around these stars.

#5. Are you afraid that you were born in this world to worship and bow down to the feet of an imaginary being? To cower in fear of making him mad and ending up in a fiery hell?
>There's no reason for me to be afraid, Jesus changed the laws of man when he died, meaning whatever sin i've done i know ill be forgiven through Jesus.

#6. Do you believe there's a giant on top of beanstalks, 3 bears living in homes, talking animals? > Why not?

#7. Do you believe there's a Santa Claus? > Yes.

#8. Do you believe that God lives in the sky? What does heaven look like? > No God is beyond our mind an realm of reality, heaven or God can't be seen if you send rockets in space.

#9. Why are you a Christian? Why don't you believe in Zeus or Krishna or Odin? Why

> Im a Christian because not only was i brought up to believe in God, i felt a love and a good presence around other people that talked about God. I was brought up in the Christian faith so that, obviously, has an effect on my thought process and how I perceive the world, But I also have spent 2 years studying other religions and ideas about ultimate reality and I love and respect many ideas that do not fit into the parameters of my Christian faith. One thing I hang on to is the Biblical idea that anyone who seeks for God will find him.

I base my rational belief in the God of the Bible on the fact that I think the resurrection of Jesus Christ can be reasonably thought to be an historical fact. Can't be proved, of course. If that is true then it leads to a reasonable belief in many other things in the Bible about God.

I add to my belief in the resurrection my own experience of Gods working in my life and the lives of others that I know. Also, my daily sense that God's presence is with me.

Dara - we don't mock your god; we can't mock the non-existent.  We mock your child like clinging to Bronze Age stories.  I tried to answer as honestly as I could, because I feel bad for you.  Your cult has crippled you emotionally and just the thought of it sends shivers down my spine.  You obviously aren't here to learn anything about Atheism - at every turn you proselytize as much as you can.  Your questions were worded to mock those who have not been successfully indoctrinated to your cult and you show zero respect for honest dialog - so why wouldn't we mock your cult doctrines?

I actually could live my life knowing there's no God i choose not to because i look at how beautiful and ugly life could be and it's not just by an "accident."

(a) Where is this "accident" to which you refer? (b) You can't have beauty and/or ugliness without God? Explain.

so when you say my life wouldn't be pointless without 'theistic beliefs' your right it would be i dont want to Just Exist but to live an know the meaning of my life

So, you don't think living a full life, working for good, raising children, traveling and seeing the world, writing poetry, painting, and giving and receiving love is enough for a life to be meaningful? Explain, please.

with that said It is important for me to help others not just rely on God to do all the work for us, otherwise how can we be transformed back into the likeness of God so that we can live with Him forever? =)

There is no forever to look forward to. The universe will apparently expand and grow cold and dead. How will you persist through forever (have you really thought about what forever really is?). Have you looked at what the Christian God is really like without giving Him excuses (He knows best, He has a plan, all is right with Him, etc.)?

God said that He protects those who TRUST Him, and "God causes all things to work together for the good, for those who LOVE Him ... "

Your God is like a parent who is only generous to children who play up to him. If we are to model our lives in the image of God, then that shoddy example is the one fathers should follow, right?

Why do atheist mockers think that God is obligated to protect them from the storms of life, or to make anything good out of them?

We don't believe in God, so we have no expectations of this being.

Look: these atheist mockers try and push it out of their government; they push God out of their schools; they push God out of their lives; and they are desperately trying to push God completely out of society as a whole! And they hypocritically whine and complain when God isn't there!

Could you cite even one complaint or whine, please? Also, your polemics are clearly not aimed at atheists, but to an external audience. They are wasted here.

Sorry, but the atheist only make hypocrites of themselves when they
say that God isn't there!

How? A hypocrite says one thing and then does something contrary or incompatible. Examples, please.

God never rejected the atheist; the atheist continually rejects God!

No, we just disbelieve in a mythological magical sorcerer being.

believing in god is a matter of faith and if you dont believe in God it doesn't mean that god doesn't exist it simply means you dont believe in faith... i know this is not 100% proof but "he who has faith does not need proof.(=

Yes, and the greatest faith comes from believing the most unbelievable thing. Most Christians, however, try to make Christianity conform with science, so they are trying not to have very much to believe. Why not stick to believing the most outrageously anti-intellectual, stupid, batshit crazy thing so you can really maximize your faith?

*You find meaning in life within your life. We can not control the life of others, we can only exercise or control ourselves. To live your life with meaning, give's meaning to your life.

Question: If God is all-knowing, (a) how did he come by that knowledge? And if he really is all-knowing, that is incompatible with free will, isn't it? I mean, how free are you, really if God already knows every good and bad thing you will do? That is predestination, which IS incompatible with free will. Unless, of course, you resort to the typical theist excuse-making: "In God, all things are possible."
