Now I have nine questions for you:

COOKING

Red wine and seafood. A no-no?

How about red wine and chocolate?

SEX

What is the purpose of sex? (just for making babies or for fun, too?)

Is it okay to have sex with another person of your sex?

Do you view some kinds of non-reproductive sex as "sodomy" or just "spice"?

SUPERSTITION

Do YOU think God exists and why/why not?

If God were a plant, what kind of plant would He/She be?

Do you believe in souls? Why?

Do you believe in life after death (and how is that not a contradiction?).

Q1 Q2 and Q5 are the same, but with different words. Answer: I live my life to the best of what I can experience and self-respect, spending my limited time in this planet serving a being there is no evidence for is a great way to waste my existence. Which I will not do. Im not afraid of death and the idea of eternal existence is a poison chalice. Only meant to comfort the mind of people who have trouble coping with reality. There most likely is nothing after we die, and whining about it would be like whining about the state of my consciousness before I was born.

Q3 and Q4 answer: Pick up Biology book's "The Origin of species" or "The greatest show on earth"

Q6 Very likely

Q7 no

Q8 Q9 : Why you dont believe in the gods of other religions?

#1. How do you go day by day living knowing one day you'll die and you'll have nothing to look forward to, just be dead?

I face reality. Death is the end. Life is not a stepping stone it is the one and only life. I live my life accordingly and make sure I live this life as best as I can. I hope that I can take part in human progress and thus the continuation of our species and all life on Earth. Maybe I wouldn't be as concerned about these things if I believed life was just a stepping stone.

#2. What do you believe will happen to you when your dead? Will that just be it?

It will be exactly how it was before I was born. Nothing. However, I think there will come a time where our personalities can be uploaded into a computer. Where our friends and family will be able to "visit" representations of ourselves. I also believe that in the even further future we will be able to live forever by completely digitizing ourselves and transferring our consciousness over to hardware in a way making us capable of some form of immortality. Many futurists believe immortality will be available to in as soon as 20 years. I don't fear death, at all. I just love life and learning, a lot. I want to see as much of the universe and human progress as possible. That is my goal. Seeing humans progress not trying to weasel my way into heaven.

#3. Do you really think our ancestors were monkeys? (explain why?)

Our ancestors were apes and a form of apes we have never seen. We simply share a common ancestor as modern day monkeys. No monkey ever gave birth to a human and no human will ever give birth to a monkey. The change is so gradual that it is difficult for many to wrap their heads around.

#4. Explain- Evolution? how did apes evolve?

Maybe apes evolved from Lemurs. That's my guess. We have common ancestors with dogs. We share 75% of the DNA of a dog and 88% with modern apes and hey, and bonus fact... 50% with bananas. All life really is connected.

#5.  Are you afraid that you were born in this world to die alone example: you lived a beautiful life in which you built over the years from learning new things helping others out, struggles, having beautiful children building a life for you and your family but then all of what you built was for nothing because once you die that's the end of your life.

No I will feel better dying knowing I lived my life well and contributed in some small way for the betterment of mankind.

#6. Do you believe there are aliens?

Yes. The chances are too great. However, I dont believe they would give a shit about what we are doing. I think we are far too primitive for them to care about our daily motions. If they came to Earth they must have technology to travel through space past light speed or through warp speed. It would be like pulling your car over to visit a mound of ants on the side of the highway.

#7.  Do you believe there's ghosts?

No, I don't believe in souls, spirits, ghosts anything supernatural that has no substantial evidence. Dont you think ghost sitings would have become more prevalent in todays day and age with all these cameras popping off every millisecond? There are no such things as ghosts, souls etc. The words unnatural and supernatural are oxymoronic. How could anything that is above nature or not a part of nature be perceivable in the natural universe? Just doesn't add up.

#8. Do you believe that there is some type of God out there? (Why? Why not?)

I believe it is possible our universe was created by some sort of creator. But man was certainly not created in it's image or any of that. Humans thus far idea of a God are just stories incited by our natural fear of death. I also believe there are millions of universes out there. This universe is just one blade of grass in a field of universes. I believe that more than a god creating this universe as some experiment. So maybe a god created that field of universes... whatever created that field of universes... may just be another natural process. It could also be this "God" you are referring to. Whatever it is. It is SO FAR DISCONNECTED from humanity that our word for God becomes abstract and pointless.

#9. Why are you an Atheist?  Why do you NOT believe in God?  Why would you reject God ?

Because there is no evidence. It's also insulting to me that for one to "go to heaven" you are expected to have "faith" and not question god. I also have an issue with the idea that "Thou shalt not kill is a ten commandment. However, if you DO kill someone. All is forgiven if in return you give yourself to jesus. etc. This is jus that religion... the one I was raised in. However, none of them seem realistic or ethical to me. Except maybe Budhism, that could be ethical. But not realistic.

Dear dear Dara. I get the sneaking suspicion you were a "hit and run" poster. I will be surprised if you come back to this thread for some real enlightenment.

Never believe ANYTHING, spiritual or otherwise, simply because others believed it before you. Religious indoctrination relies heavily on making it's victims feel uncomfortable when it comes to questioning the validity of what it espouses. Believing something is true should only be considered after critical examination of the evidence. Your journey to freedom is just beginning if you have the courage.

@dragotron

I believe I heard on a science show not so long ago that man actually shares more dna with a lobster than with a chimp. We have a lot more to understand about genetics.

What I see is yet one more attempt by a troll/theist to force others to validate the theist/troll belief system. I have had my fill of playing this game. I don't spend my life rearanging others people's dirty laundry, don't expect me to do the same for you.

I live my life as best I can. I have seen life and death up close, my turn to death shall happen soon enough. I pursue honesty as best I can. I love. My wonder is still alive. I 'believe' knowledge has value, and that ignorance should be reduced, not promoted. I 'believe' being party to self deceit and cruelity are close to true 'sins'.

I'm a lifelong atheist and never believed in a deity.  That information might provide some context for my answers.

#1. How do you go day by day living knowing one day you'll die and you'll have nothing to look forward to, just be dead?

I don't look forward to death at all, but I doubt most believers do either.  It's unfortunate, but it's not something we can change, and it doesn't play a role in my day-to-day life.

#2. What do you believe will happen to you when your dead? Will that just be it?

Yes, that will be the end.  I believe all consciousness is a product of our brains, and when our brains cease to function, our consciousness--and all that we think of as ourselves--cease to exist as well.

#3. Do you really think our ancestors were monkeys? (explain why?)

This one isn't a matter of opinion, when phrased properly (which this question isn't.)  It's a scientific fact, with no room for doubt in the absence of some new discovery, that we share a common ancestor with all other life on Earth.  Our closest relatives are other primates, which means that the common ancestor of humans and other primates (our shared grandparent, if you will) lived relatively recently in Earth's history.

#4. Explain- Evolution? how did apes evolve?

Ask a scientist and they will explain it to you and show you the proof better than anyone here can.  But basically, life adapts to its environment through a combination of mutations and natural selection.

#5.  Are you afraid that you were born in this world to die alone example: you lived a beautiful life in which you built over the years from learning new things helping others out, struggles, having beautiful children building a life for you and your family but then all of what you built was for nothing because once you die that's the end of your life.

That's what has happened to countless generations of humans, going back to the beginning of the species.  Death is something that we cannot change, at least not with current medical technology.  But sometimes our actions outlive us, as when we make a positive impact on the world around us.

#6. Do you believe there are aliens?

Yes.  The size and age of the universe make it very unlikely that life evolved only on one planet.  However, I do not believe alien life has visited Earth, because the distances involved are very great and very difficult to travel without dramatic new discoveries.

#7.  Do you believe there's ghosts?

No.

#8. Do you believe that there is some type of God out there? (Why? Why not?)

No, because there is no evidence of anything supernatural at work in the universe.  If someday scientists come to the conclusion that only a deity could be responsible for certain observed phenomena, then I will change my mind along with the bulk of the scientific community.  But the history of scientific discovery strongly suggests that that will never happen, and that everything that exists comes from physical processes and natural laws.

#9. Why are you an Atheist?  Why do you NOT believe in God?  Why would you reject God ?

I have always been an atheist because I have never believed in gods.  I do not believe in gods because there is no evidence to suggest that gods exist.  I reject the belief in gods because of the lack of evidence that any gods exist.  Sorry if I sound repetitive, but I wanted to answer each question to the best of my ability. :)

1. Very easily.

2. My body will be shoved into a giant fire and burn me to a crisp. The larger bones will then be crushed into tiny pieces. When all of that is done, I will be put into an urn. The end.

3. Nope.

4. Go read a bunch of evolution books.

5. Nope. I will die surrounded by those that I love and those people who love me in return. I will live on in their memories and in any deeds that I have done.

6. I think it would be arrogant of me to believe that our planet is the only planet in the entire universe to have any type of intelligent life.

7. I haven't looked into it enough to form an opinion in either direction.

8. Nope. Because there is no conclusive proof(or any proof at all) that there is a god or gods.

9. The first two parts of question nine are redundant, so you may refer my answer for question eight. As to the third part. I cannot reject that which is not there.
