in defense of Paul: the development of the role of women in the early church from equality to marginalized

very often i have seen the objection made regarding Paul's attitude toward women. this perceived attitude has been used to condemn Paul as a misogynist, hateful of women. indeed, I have seen a number of women, and some men as well for that matter, writing to say that this misogyny in the New Testament (NT) led them to reject their faith in Christianity. my aim with this post is to show that the perception of misogyny in the NT is both in a sense accurate but also inaccurate insofar as the text… Continue
