I got home from the night shift, and was reading my local paper. The letters to the Editor are always interesting. This morning, however, there was a huge (1/2 page) letter all about how Atheists think they are Gods, and are afraid to be accountable for their actions in front of the "divine presence". Until recently, I have not thought much about how pervasive religion is in today's society, and in my own life.



Every moment we are inundated with religious symbols, words and ideas.. and most of us never even notice. I think of how many times I refer to a religious symbol or deity during a day without thinking about it.
