It's been awhile since I've had any pause to write anything and it feels good to be able to get a few things off my chest, even if it’s mundane. Because of this time laps in writing I fear this may become long and winded, forgive me in advance. There’s just too much to say for me to wrap in up into a smaller package that’s easier to read. I am no blogger, but I have a lot to say.
Recently I’ve been getting a little flustered by the unrelenting use of “God” in the most basic…Continue
Since coming out last year to my family about being an Atheist I have noticed that there have been more then obvious increases in their religious behavior every time I'm around them.
For intense, my mother busted out her Bible, which has been at the bottom of a box in the back of her closet for the past 15 years. It now decorates the living room coffee table.
My oldest sister has suddenly discovered that she has taste for any and all angel paintings. So much so that she…Continue
My now super religious sister has been dating this 100% religious jersey shore tool for the past year. Whom I personally can’t stand, even before I found out that he once told my sister that he had to think of younger, prettier women to just have sex with her… because she is to old looking.
So last night while in a meeting at work, I get this text from my sister saying, “YAY,…Continue
This is according to someone who has been my friend since my first year of high school. It started out as a simple post on Facebook... go figure. It was about Jessica Ahlquist and the horrifying treatment she is receiving by the Christians. Hell then the next thing I know he's getting all super sensitive and pissed off at me over it. So much so he posted…Continue
Do you think this crosses a line between whats permissible when people are in a non professional environment Vs a professional one?
For me its bad enough that the Religious feel that it is OK to come to peoples homes and attempt to share their beliefs (aka convert you). There is little you can do other than hose them down as they approach screaming “No, No, Shoo, get out of here, scat” while flailing your free hand around like your trying to chase raccoons out of your…Continue
Talking on the phone with my Dad can be either a good laugh or a massive headache. Worst part is he is probably the only person in my family who does not know that I am an atheist. He is also the one person I just don’t have the courage to tell.
So, why can’t I tell him when it was so easy to tell everyone else? My reasoning is a rather basic one. I don’t want to lose the relationship that took us so damned long to rebuild. He left when I was 5, it devastated me, and he…Continue
The Holiday where Christians will adorn their white robes to deliver salvation to the evil devil children Halloween by giving them Bibles instead of Candy.
It started yesterday when my Sister, who knows and hates that I’m atheist, asked me what I was doing for Halloween. Instantly I knew something…Continue
Sure as hell isn't always easy.
My predicament. I am a very professional person at work and one thing I am admit about is not bring in personal events, issues, irritations and/or problems with me. Work is work and I am paid to do my job not bitch about my life. However, recently I've had this woman, probably a volunteer mother, calling me for the specially Olympics. We donate a good sum of money every year. Seeing that I am charged of accounts payable and receivable it is my…
I know that coming out as an atheist you at least have a vague idea of what you’re in for. You accept the fact that it is not going to be easy. You’re going to be hurt, let down, and extremely disappointed more often than not. This is understandable considering what you are actually taking a stance against. People become extremely unpredictable when their delusions are threatened. I knew all these things, was for the most part prepared for it. My family has not been the greatest family in…Continue

My sister was bugging me to death about some art she is working on when out of no where she starts going on about God answering prayers.
Oh' Joy, I think to myself. Then to make my point clear I ask her.
"How many Christians does it take to change a light bulb?"
*my sister frowning at me* .......
"Zero, they are all still praying for God to do it for them".
We just stared each other down for a few minutes,…Continue
